Following last year’s excellent end-of-year position, which enabled us to put aside some money towards a new repair fund, our financial position in the first half of 2008 is not looking very healthy – we are currently looking at a deficit of about £11,000. This is partly due to lower than expected “loose” collections and lower income from Pastoral Centre bookings. This is a good time for us all to consider beefing up the planned giving scheme – if you’re not a member, please consider joining, and if you are, have you re-visited your pledge in recent months? This year’s Pledge Sunday will be on 12th October, but you don’t need to wait until then. Any one-off donations will also be welcome. Above all, please keep the financial needs of our church in your prayers with other matters!
